INTRODUCTION
Registration formalities with the various social security and tax authorities can
be quite daunting for the new company owner. Below we explain what you need to do

CENTRE COMMUN DE LA SÉCURITÉ SOCIALE (CCSS)
The
company must complete and return a "Déclaration d'Exploitation" together with a copy
of the company statutes to the CCSS. The CCSS will confirm the registration within
2 weeks by mailing the registration number of the company, class of accident insurance

SERVICE DE SANTÉ AU TRAVAIL MULTISECTORIEL (STM)
All
Luxembourg companies must send their new employees for a medical examination to ensure
that they are capable of undertaking the tasks required of them. All companies are
automatically registered with the STM but it is possible to register with a different
service depending on industry sector, e.g. ASTF for the financial sector. To register
with the STM, or other service, the company must complete and return a "Demande d'Affiliation
au Service de Santé au Travail Multisectoriel"

TAX OFFICE
The tax authorities automatically
issue a tax registration number after the formation of a company via the Centre Informatique
de l'Etat. Foreign companies wishing to operate in Luxembourg need to make a written
request for a tax registration number to the Tax Office.
